LAVOZ reeds produce a very clear and powerful sound allowing precise staccatos. I choose a reed one point harder than necessary compared to the sax mouthpiece in order to be able to work it by scraping to facilitate "overtones" and "altissimos" on the alto. I have already tried Rico Jazz Select reeds: they are also excellent, but they produce a darker sound (a matter of personal taste).
